What do you want to create in your life?

As a woman you carry the weight of the world on your shoulders, and I want you to feel your burdens lifted when you come to CREATE. I believe that relief begins with feeling genuinely accepted and compassionately cared for so that healing can manifest. The exhale after feeling relief ushers in encouragement (translated "en coeur" or "to be in your heart") inspiring you to reconnect to your heart again with new hope, ideas, desires and possibilities. I am passionate about supporting you while you move forward creating a joyous life and feel it is an honor to serve you.

With over 25 years of experience, I provide a safe place for exploring how to decrease anxiety, manage stress, cope with depression and work through transitions. If you have experienced a trauma or loss, we will honor your personal journey to identify your strengths and use your newfound resilience to successfully bridge over into your new beginning.

I will work collaboratively with you implementing cognitive behavioral therapy as well as brief and positive therapies. Expressing feelings is done best when one feels relaxed so I offer a variety of options for your care such as traditional talk therapy, walk & talk therapy and art therapy.

Unlike many large practices where it is difficult to be seen by the owner and the office may feel sterile, I serve my clients directly in a warm and friendly office studio setting.

Therapy can be a time not only for your healing and managing change but it also can provide you with new life-long coping skills used beyond therapy for continued restoration and renewal.

What do you hope for?

A better life is possible for you and I’m here to walk with you on your journey. Contact me today at 610.329.1684 or at info@createarttherapy.com for a free 15-minute consultation and let’s talk about how therapy may help you begin creating a life you love and living it passionately.

On a professional note....

I am licensed in Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Virginia as a licensed professional counselor and have been nationally board certified as an art therapist by the Art Therapy Credentialing Board since 1996. I have over twenty-five years of experience serving individuals and organizations by providing individual and group counseling and art therapy with adults, children, and families. I obtained post-graduate studies and training in counseling from Mercer University in Atlanta, Georgia, hold a Masters Degree in Art Therapy from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, and a Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Texas at Austin.  I have offered wellness classes and professional workshops, lectured, organized community events, advocated for children by writing legislation for anti-bullying, supervised therapists and consulted for major corporations for wellness and stress reduction.   I have published many papers and presented lectures locally and nationally on the subject of Art Therapy. After founding and operating The E.A.S.E.L. Inc., one of the first free-standing art therapy private practices in Atlanta, Georgia for 14 years, my practice was awarded as Best of Marietta for Therapy Services.  I am a member of The American Art Therapy Association and the Delaware Valley Art Therapy Association and founder and owner of C.R.E.A.T.E. in Greater Philadelphia, Inc. since 2014. Prior to working in private practice, I worked with at-risk youth in residential treatment and special education services with Catholic Social Services, adults, adolescents and children at Ridgeview Institute Psychiatric Hosptial in Atlanta, Georgia, and most recently with adult patients and their families with Main Line Health at Paoli Hospital.

On a personal note....

I am a very (super….) proud mom of my two adult children Matt, a recent graduate from NYU who works in film in Manhattan, and Josee, who attends Rutgers University at the Honors College studying pre-veterinary medicine and research.

When I am away from the office and art studio, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, making art (all types!), kayaking by moonlight, hiking by rippling streams, taking road trips to new places, relaxing in odd poses during yoga, growing flowers in my window boxes and herbs in my garden for cooking, watching a good football game (I'm from Texas....), and learning about other cultures and traditional folk arts with no end in sight.

How did CREATE in Greater Philadelphia, Inc. get started?

It all started with a little seed of hope.....Please visit my July 2018 blog for a history of CREATE
